This is your wake up call. No more being weak and trying to feel proud about it. You were never meant to be weak, but to be great, to be strong, to inspire other people, to achieve everything you’ve ever wanted.
Queue the music. Welcome, brother.
Are you as tired as I am of not being what you want to be? Are you looking for some guidance? Are you absolutely sick of apologizing? If you do, you are not alone. Men have it hard in the modern world, that’s a fact. Young men are constantly being called “toxic” when they act as a man should, and as a man naturally does. However, we are not here to look for justification for our weakness, but to find inspiration to become what any man knows he should be: strong. A man. No more apologizing for being and doing what you were born to be and do.
Men have it hard in the modern world, and that’s a fact. Young men are constantly being called “toxic” when they act as a man should, and as a man naturally does.
This is the beginning of your new life. This is the moment you’ll look back upon when people you don’t care about and that don’t care about you tell you that “you’ve changed”. This is your wake up call. No more being weak and trying to feel proud about it. You were never meant to be weak, but to be great, to be strong, to inspire other people, to achieve everything you’ve ever wanted. To be free, to be wise, to be strong, to not apologize for wanting bigger and better things out of life.
From today onwards, every single day you’ll try to be better than the day before. The days where you could willfully blind yourself to the truth of your existence are now behind you. They were good while they lasted. They are no more. You are better than that. Are you willing to accept the simple fact that God put you on this earth to be strong and proud? And are you willing to sacrifice the expendable, idle pleasures of modern society for the pursuit of truth and self-fulfillment?
If you answer is yes, this is the place for you.
We will grow and learn together. I will provide what I’ve learned about being a better, stronger man, and a better person.
I hope I can help you find some answers.
Why "Simple men"?
Simple: Modernity has turned generations of men into whiny, gossipy weaklings and drama kings. It has overcomplicated every aspect of a man's life to a point where there's almost nothing but chaos. The traditionally masculine order that used to turn the gears of society as it relates to relationships, career, and self improvement has morphed into a whirlwind of screaming, finger pointing, polygamy, instant gratification, social media and gossip. No wonder men are feeling lost.
The name "Simple men" is inspired on the song "Simple man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, but it has a much deeper meaning in that it refers to a time when men were actually respected and respectable, where a man's primary job in this life was to be a simple, good, traditional man. To be kind but strong, to subscribe to a hierarchy of values based on family, discipline, strength and also religion. It refers to a better time when men could be, unapologetically, masculine men.
What's in this blog?
Hopefully everything a young man needs to accept and embrace his masculine essence. From advice on how to be a stronger man, to book recommendations and deeper essays regarding the state of the west and man's role in it. I don't want to provide too narrow of a definition, so I will summarize it thus: If you are a young man and have a feeling that something's wrong and that there are weird things going on in society, keep on reading. Together we'll find some answers.
